T-shirts for the 12th Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Chicken and Egg Festival can be ordered at any time now.

Children's sizes will run $9 each, while adult sizes small through large will also be $9 apiece. Extra large shirts will cost $10, while XX and XXX sizes will be $11.

Orders can be made by calling Karen McLellan at the Bank of Prescott or Mary Godwin at the Chamber of Commerce. The shirts, when they arrive, can be picked up at the Bank of Prescott during regular business hours.

Time is also drawing near for the festival, scheduled June 11-12 at the Prescott City Park.

This year's festival will follow its traditional format, opening Friday evening with the Rotary Club's chicken-in-the-rough dinner at 5 p.m., followed by entertainment on the festival stage, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Some of the athletic events will also kick off Friday afternoon. These include the Serving Something Eggstra Tennis Tournament, the Coop-Hoop 3-on-3 basketball tourney, the Fowl Ball Men's Softball tourney and the Chicks with Sticks softball competition.

Food vendors along with arts and crafts displays will also begin Friday.

Saturday opens with the Kiwanis Club's annual omelet breakfast at 6:30 a.m., followed by the Chase the Chicken 5-k run/walk at 8 o'clock.

The Chicken Chasers kid's run will be held at 9 a.m., with the Cock of the Walk weightlifting tourney starting at 10.

The annual antique car show starts at 9 a.m. as well.

Other events include the chickie's pen balloon liftoff at 9:30 a.m., the golden egg hunt at 10, a hula hoop contest at 11:30 and the popular cackling-crowing contest at noon on the festival stage.

There will be an egg toss event at 10:15 a.m. on the stage, with the little mister rooster and little miss hen pageants scheduled for 2 p.m.

The formal events conclude at the Nevada County Fairgrounds with a pee wee rodeo at 6 o'clock, sponsored by the FFA alumni association.

Throughout the day the chicken market, filled with arts, crafts, commercial and novelty booths will be open for perusal.
