I apologize for not having the news in for several weeks, I didn't know there were so many folks that read the news. When I don't have a write up, boy do they give me a lot of static. Okay you all, here is your news for the past two weeks.

Two weeks ago:

The week of Muzleloading season we had several of our local folks to bag deer. Kim Overton killed her first deer ever, a doe. Al Formy got a doe, Ronnie Hearnsburger a doe and David Hendrix an eight point.

Charles and Judy Matthews of Jacksonville were down over the weekend visiting with her parents Lewis and Irene Cornelius.

Bill Ridling family, prayers and our deepest sympathy goes out to you for the loss of your loved one. Mike Ridling was a son of Bill's.

John Cornelius had birthday. He turned 23-years-old. Happy birthday, belated, John.

Last week:

Genola Cornelius from Hope, Miki, Colen, Kati and Grayson Morrow from Benton, Jason, Jeremy, Chris, Tracy and Abby Morrow had an early holiday get together Sunday at Larry and Janey Morrows. The reason for it was Chris had to go back to San Diego were he is stationed on Saturday.

Jeff, his brother, had left for Ft. Leonard, Mo., Friday for a two week Camp for the army reserve.

Elizabeth Hopkins had a birthday party at Skateland Saturday. There were 11 kids along with parents who attended. Happy birthday, Elizabeth.

Susie Jester turned 50 years old. The HeadStart kids would like to wish her a happy birthday. Happy birthday, Susie.

Cassidy Steed from Hope visited with her great-grandmother, Hazel Hendrix.

Thursday, David and Nina Beth Thompson visited with Ruth Thompson for a while.

Aaron Morton spent Saturday night in McCaskill with his dad, Mike Morton. He came home Sunday.

Sunday was family day at Morris Baptist Church. The goal was to get 100 in Sunday school. We had 81. That was a church house full. We enjoyed lunch and singing after services.

I have a story you won't believe. Ronnie and Pam Hearnsburger had an unexpected guest in their house. Melanie and Aaron Hearnsburger heard the dogs barking out back and Melanie opened the patio door to see what it was. About that time a bobcat ran inside the house. Pam started out the back bedroom and hollered to close the door.

They said it was going crazy, running and jumping up on the bar. Aaron had a towel trying to catch it to put it outside but had no success. Melanie opened the front door and finally it ran out.

This week's news:

Sure did enjoy the rain. I liked the cool weather that came with it. John Henry Collins from Memphis had heart surgery last week. Remember him in your prayers.

Shauntelle Bennett and Payton had supper with Tracy and Abby Morrow Sunday night.

Saturday is the first day of gun season. So all you hunters be careful and have a good time.

Grayson Morrow from Benton spent Saturday night with his grandparents Larry and Janey Morrow. They took him home Sunday evening.

Larry and Janey Morrow would like to wish Gregg and Jennifer Morrow, who lives in Germany, a happy anniversary.

Enjoy the week. And remember deer hunters, be careful.
