Nevada County Picayune and Gurdon Times Newspaper Archive |
Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, May 12, 1999 in the Gurdon Times Many thanks to those who donated items for the auction on May 4. All of us are very appreciative of the people of Gurdon who support the center. The Head Start children sang for the senior adults on May 5 and Lloyd Baumgardner also sang. The square dancers performed on May 6, under the direction of Tommy and Dorothy Hays, and some of the adults visited the Mt. Ida Senior Adult Center on May 7. Sen. Mike Ross spoke at the center on May 10. We hope all of you mothers had a wonderful day. The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is 'one of the best kept secrets in town.' We would love for you to stop by and see what we have to offer. Singing, bingo, games, square dancing, quilting and good food are just some of the things we have to offer. The ones who are homebound enjoy a good hot meal every day as well as being able to visit with the one who delivers the lunch. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and is a United Way Agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
