HORNE FUNERAL HOME of GURDON

Ralph Clayton Toombs, 71, of Tyler, Texas, died Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at the hospice of East Texas Home Place in Tyler.

Mr. Toombs was born April 24, 1929, in Gurdon. A long term resident of Crossett, he was retired from Georgia-Pacific Corporation. He was a Methodist and a veteran of the United States Air Force. His wife, the former Agnes Farnsworth, preceded Mr. Toombs in death.

Survivors include four children, Robert Toombs of Jackson, Miss., Leslie Toombs of Tyler, Texas, Laura McCarty of Mesquite, Texas, and Ben Toombs of Daholegna, Ga.; one brother, Jack Toombs of Gurdon; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the hospice of East Texas, 3800 Paluxy, Suite 560, Tyler, TX 75703.

Memorial services were entrusted to Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon on Saturday, Nov. 4.
