Band Boosters are still taking names for the 2001 Band Booster Calendar. Birthdays, anniversaries and memorial mentions cost 50" to be added to the calendar. For more information or to place a name in the calendar call Linda Hulan at 353-4321.

The monthly diabetics meeting in the Extension Homemakers Kitchen at the Clark County Fairgrounds will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, at 2:00 p.m.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will hold sessions on Nov. 10 and 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal Building. For more information call 353-2514.

Angelic Voices Gospel Choir from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia will be performing at Muldrew Chapter C.M.E. Church at Fourth and Jones Streets in Gurdon Sunday, Nov. 12, at 3:00 p.m. Many other performers will appear for this fall musical. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Humane Society of Clark County has t-shirts available in many different sizes and colors for only $10. Contact Katie Holt at 246-5168 or Sammy McClure at 353-2730. Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute commodity food at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center, 410 E. Main, on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Commodities are available to persons meeting the income guidelines.

Carpenter's Home Improvement will be at First Assembly of God for a kids crusade Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 15-17, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 and 19, at 6:00 p.m. Kids will want to meet Norma Lean Noodlenut, Andy the Dummy, Willie Fall, Paco Taco, and Mr. Hawaiian. The church is located at 1007 E. Main St. Call 353-2804 for a ride. Everyone is welcome.

The Swamp Riders Motorcycle Club's toy run, which benefits needy children, will be held Nov. 18. Participants will meet at 1:00 p.m. at Al's Iron Eagle Saloon and then take the toys to the Department of Human Services in Prescott. Admission is a new toy or $5 per person. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
