Ward Captures Super Pro Division At Prescott Raceway

There was plenty of action at the Prescott Raceway Saturday as Dane Ward of Mena captured the Super Pro division.

Ward covered the track reaching 124 miles per hour. His dial in time was 5.15, which was also his estimated time. His reaction time was 0.521 seconds.

The runner up was Greg Brotherton, also of Mena, who had a run of 135 mph. His dial in was 4.94 second, while his ET was 4.96. His reaction time was 0.506.

Magnolia's Jackie Lewis was the semifinalist. He had a dial in time of 6.98 and an ET of 6.48, while his reaction time was 0.523. Lewis hit a top speed of 106 mph.

In the no electronics class, Wayne Davis of Emmet took the top spot. His dial in was 6.98, while his ET was 7.00. Davis' reaction time was 0.584, good for 93 mph.

Leavy's Danny Crumpton was the runner up in the race. His dial in was 6.90, while his ET was 7.06. Crumpton's reaction time was 0.606, for 100 mph.

There were two semifinalists, Ed Myers of Monticello and Allan Holloway of Greenbrier.

Myers had a dial in and ET of 6.66, with a reaction time of 0.422. His top speed was 103.

Holloway's dial in was 5.89, while his ET was 5.94. His reaction time was 0.476, while the top speed was 117 mph.

The street division was captured by Sheridan's Jacob Paty who had a dial in of 11.88 and ET of 11.86. His reaction time was 1.01 seconds and top speed was 87 mph.

Brandon Elton of Benton was the runner up. His dial in was 13.08 and ET was 13.09. Elton's reaction time was 0.402 and top end hit 76 mph.

Loukas Gulley was one of the semifinalists. His dial in was 11.00, while his ET was 10.93. Gulley's reaction time was 0.550 and high speed was 84 mph.

Sheridan's David Reynolds was the other semifinalist. He had a dial in of 13.83 and ET of 13.76. His reaction time was 0.634 and top speed was 74 mph.

Mena's Greg Brotherton captured the quick 16 race. His dial in was 4.94, with an ET of 4.97. His reaction time was 0.517 and top speed hit 135 mph.

Hope's Billy Sanders was the runner up. Sanders's dial in was 5.94 and ET was 5.96. His reaction time was 0.542, with the top speed being 117 mph.

The final race of the evening was between the winners of the no electronics and super pro classes.

The combo race went to Ward of Mena. His dial in was 5.14 with an ET of 5.20. His reaction time was 0.595, while he hit 117 mph.

Emmet's Davis came in second. His dial in was 6.98, with an ET of 7.05. His reaction tome was 0.647, while reaching 95 mph.

The track will be closed this weekend because of the AND Nationals in Tulsa, Okla.

Prescott is the returning champion of this event with several local racers going to try for a repeat win.

Those heading to Tulsa include Greg Dougan in the super pro division, Ervin Blakely in the no electronics class, and Steve Smilley, also a no electronics runner.
