Gurdon Schools band concert will be held May 13 at Beech Street Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. It will feature the beginner band, intermediate band, jazz band and high school concert band. Admission is free and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. Support the arts and attend a concert.

If you graduated from Gurdon High School in 1949 or were a member of that class anytime between 1937 and 1949, call Billie Jean Miller at 353-4758.

The annual meeting of the Easley Cemetery Association will be held May 16 at 2:00 p.m in the fellowship hall of Hammonds Chapel Baptist Church. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

The descendants of Jesse and Mary Toland and Will and Nora Toland will meet for their annual reunion on May 16. The reunion will be held at White Oak Lake. Potluck lunch will be served at noon. Call James Toland at 353-2616 for more information.

The Church of God, pastor Ivory Curry, will host its annual Family Day during worship service on May 16 at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served following services. Everyone is invited.

Bethel Cemetery Association will meet May 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the cemetery near Okolona.

There will be a gospel singing concert May 15 at 7:00 p.m. at First Church of God, Highway 67 South in Gurdon. Featured group is Gospel Chimes. Everyone is invited to attend.

Homecoming services will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Curtis on May 16. Services begin at 10:00 a.m. Guest speaker is Bro. Mike Smith. Dinner and singing will follow service. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Carrie Street Church of God will be have 'revival breakthrough' services featuring Covenant Women. Pre-opening services will begin June 2 with speaker Sis. Carolyn Crow. Theme for the revival is 'We Will Not Give Up, Because We Have Victory In Christ.' On June 3, guest speaker will be missionary Mary W. Oliver of Victory Way Church of God in Christ of Bearden. On June 4 the guest speaker will be Sis. Georgia Alexander of Faith Unlimited Outreach of Camden. Services begin at 7:00 nightly.

Whelen Springs Baptist Church will be having a homecoming, the first in many years, on May 23. Potluck lunch will be served at noon. Everyone welcome.

Country dance lessons are being given on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at the Beirne Fire Department sponsored by the community of Beirne. Cost is $2 per person. Call 353-6759 for more information.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon on May 27 at the Municipal Building from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. Call 353-2514 for an appointment or more information.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
