Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, November 1, 2000 in the Gurdon Times The senior adults with October birthdays enjoyed their cake on Thursday. We again thank Thomason's Big Star for providing the cake for the center. Beatrice Stafford, Patsy Stiffler, Eulah Wilson and myself judged the Halloween posters for the first, second, third and fourth grades at the Gurdon Primary School Friday. It was really hard to pick, because they were all so good. Lloyd Baumgardner sang for us last Wednesday. The square dancers danced on Friday. This week ends October as time seems to be flying. We turned our clocks back Saturday. Did you? Ann and Watson Smith were chosen as volunteers of the year. We voted by ballot. Thanks, Ann and Watson, for all of the time you donated. We are thankful for all of our volunteers. Our Cover Girls will soon be done with the quilt they are working on. We thank them so much for this is one of the fund-raisers for the center. Come and join us some times for a meal and a fun time. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way Agency.
