James W. Hambright, 74, of Beaumont, Texas, died Sunday, October 29, 2000, at Schlesinger's Geriatric Center.

A native of Prescott, he lived in Beaumont for 48 years and was a retired attorney with Orgain, Bell and Tucker. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Ann Eaheart Hambright of Beaumont; a son, Robert J. Hambright of Beaumont; three daughters, Phoebe Hambright Dishman of Beaumont, Barbara Hambright Scribner of Plano, Texas, and Kathrine Sue Hambright of Beaumont; a brother, Paul R. Hambright of Galveston, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison, Beaumont, TX 77706.
