Oak Grove NewsLULA Q. KENDRICKPublished Wednesday, October 25, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune We had a very good time at church Sunday at our pastor and wife's appreciation. Rev. Herbert Adams really did preach good and his choir really did sing good. The pastor, Rev. Banks, and his wife can go to the conference with their heads up. He has been with us for four years. He has a wonderful help mate. She teaches Sunday school almost every Sunday. Annual conference starts Wednesday evening at St. Phillips in Magnolia and it will end Sunday afternoon. DeWillie Gulley is home after being in rehab for several months. His boys really see after him. I visited Rev. O.W. Walker and Mrs. Johnson Monday evening. Rev. Walker can remember very good and Mrs. Johnson from Cale will be going home soon. Mrs. Cara Simpson is still in rehab in Texarkana. Josie Simpson is in Beverly Health and Rehab in Prescott. Let's pray for the sick and shut-in; visit them or send a card to let them know we care about them. Mrs. Janet Smith went to the memorial service that was held for the one who died on the ship and said it was really sad. Her son was not on that ship. She knows some of the people who got killed. She is a very nice person. She drives for me when I need things. Mrs. Daisy Gulley is our delegate to the annual conference from the Young Circuit. I will have more news next time.
