Activities Continue For Red Ribbon WeekPublished Wednesday, October 25, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesAll Gurdon Primary School families are encouraged to participate in Red Ribbon Week this week by placing a red ribbon on the door of their homes. Different activities for the week include were scheduled for each day at the school Monday Red ribbons were given to the students. The ribbons are to be worn each day. Students also participated in the Red Ribbon Drug Free Awareness march down Maple Street to the Gurdon Municipal Building. Tuesday everyone was to wear a red ribbon. The one wearing a red ribbon whose name was drawn won a free Icee from Red-E-Mart. Poster/pictures were also judged. Students were allowed to wear a cap to school. Other activities for the remainder of the week include: Wednesday students are to wear red ribbons and red. Fourth grade students will leave the primary school at 10:10 a.m. to go to the high school to give seniors letters and dime cards. Contest winners will be announced and prizes awarded. Thursday students at GPS are to wear their red ribbons. Champs students from the high school will present a puppet program to kindergarten and first grade at 2:00 p.m. At 2:20 p.m they will present a program to second, third, and fourth grades. Friday GPS students are to wear their red ribbons. Friday is Team Up Against Drugs Day.' Wear your favorite sports team clothes.
