Community NewsJERINE HATLEYPublished Wednesday, October 25, 2000 in the Gurdon Times Section one meeting and fifth Sunday singing of Southwest District will convene at Gennesert Baptist Church in Arkadelphia Oct. 27-29. Friday night pre-musical at 7:00 p.m with division A in charge. Rev. C.W. Harris, section president. Sis. Ethel Harris, section president of W.M.U. Bro. Lawrence Guinn, president of division A. Sis. Delores Hodge, president of Southwest Women's W.M.U. Dr. C.K. Yarber, moderator. Rev. Charles Hood, host pastor. The Clark County section meeting will convene with St. Ruth Baptist Church in Gum Springs, also fifth Sunday singing Oct. 28-30, and Friday, Oct. 27, at 7:00 p.m for a pre-musical. Clark Count division in charge with Rev. Marshall Allen as moderator, Rev. Troy Hern, president, Rev. Charlie Thomas, host pastor. Everyone is welcome. Women's fall conference to be held November 3 and 4 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. Rev. Kendall Marshall, interim pastor. The theme will be Blowing Away the Ashes of Life By the Winds of the Holy Spirit.' Friday services are at 7:00 p.m and Saturday services at 9:00 a.m. Everyone and all women are invited. Sponsored by St. Paul women's department. Harvest Rally to be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7:00 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon. Everyone is welcome. Special guests will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. Rev. Betty Gulley, pastor. A fall musical will be held at Muldrew Chapter C.M.E. Church of Gurdon Nov. 12 at 3:00 p.m. In concert will be Angelic Voices Gospel Choir from Henderson State University of Arkadelphia. Many others are on the program. The church is located at 4th and Jones Streets. Everyone welcome. Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2:30 will be the annual church anniversary at Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Fulton. Everyone is welcome. Special guests will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. Rev. J.S. Newborn, pastor. The third Sunday night fellowship singing will convene with Eastern Star Baptist Church of Smithton Sunday night, Nov. 19, at 6:30. Everyone welcome. Bro. Roosevelt House and Bro. The Martin Gospel Singers will celebrate their 28th singing anniversary Nov. 18 (6:30 p.m.) and 19 (2:30 p.m.) at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City. There will be a benefit program Saturday night, Oct. 28, at 7:00 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Prescott Farrah Flemons, a burn victim, who also lost her son.
