Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, October 25, 2000 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Senior Adult Center board met Oct. 17 and nominated officers for board members to serve in 2001. Jerry Don Childers brought the third graders to the center to sing for us on Wednesday, Oct. 18. They also sang for the Rotary on Thursday. This week we are celebrating October birthdays. They will enjoy the cake furnished by Thomason's Big Star. We really appreciate the store doing this for the center. The ones with birthdays are Autrey Horne, Maxine Purifoy, Dennis Shuffield, Georgia Schee, Phelsa Killingsworth, Earlene Self, Beatrice Stafford, J.W. Wingfield, D.W. Bryan, Louise Davies, Lue Schoonover, Roland Walters, Mary Lou Capps, Emogene Kinder, James Tucker, Dorothy Craighead, and Mae Vanna Cook. We wish them all a happy birthday. It doesn't seem possible that the month of October is almost gone, and that it will soon be time to move our clocks back one hour. The ladies are still quilting. This is one of the fund-raisers at the center. We are also planning a Christmas dinner for Dec. 10. We would love for you to come and join us. There's something for everyone to do.
