Bowersock, Byers United In Oklahoma

Megan Joy Bowersock and John Michael Byers were married in the Rose Garden of Woodward Park in Tulsa, Okla., at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21. The wedding was officiated by Rev. Dino Zaragoza.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bowersock of Bartlesville, Okla.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Bowersock of Dewey, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tunnell of Bentonville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Don Byers of Bartlesville and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Bailey of Gurdon, Mr. and Mrs. Z.T. Byers of Foreman, Mrs. Carol Byers of Little Rock and the great grandson of Mrs. Jim Williams of Bartlesville, formerly of Curtis.

Music was provided by Infinity Music. Soloist was Stephen Maison of Stillwater, Okla. Head usher-reader was Blake Bowersock, brother of the bride, of Norman, Okla.

Andrea and Laura Bailey, cousins of the groom, both of Conway were guest book attendants.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal floor length candlelight gown designed by Michelangelo. It featured a sequined and pearled strapless corset bodice with tulle skirt and cathedral length train. Pearls and sequins adorned the bride's veil. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory and pale pink roses, round in shape.

Kassie Williams, childhood friend of the bride, of Tulsa, Okla., was maid of honor. Joey Beuke, friend of the groom, of Oklahoma City, was best man.

Tammie Smith, cousin of the bride, of Dewey, Okla., and Michelle Purtle, sister of the groom, of Pearland, Texas, served as bridesmaids. Groomsmen were Ryan Dunlap of Bartlesville and Jim Purtle of Pearland, Texas.

The bride's attendants wore mix and match periwinkle separates, each with a different style top and skirt.

The bridesmaids carried nosegays of pale pink roses.

The groom and his attendants wore traditional black tuxedos.

A reception was held at the Holiday Inn Select.

White lattice decorated with tulle and ivy provided the backdrop of the bride's table, which consisted of a three-tier wedding cake accented with lush pink, lavender and ivory roses. A lovely china bride and groom, a gift to the bride and groom from the bride's grandmother, and crystal flutes flanked each side of the cake.

The groom's cake was a chocolate basket filled with chocolate-covered strawberries.

An assortment of sandwiches, chicken tenders, egg rolls, cheeses, vegetables, dips and fruits were served.

Large round tables for sitting and visiting were located throughout the reception area. they were covered with floor-length white cloths. A centerpiece of pink-tipped rosebuds and ivy graced each table. White balloons with long streamers floated over the dance floor. Music was provided throughout the evening by Infinity Music.

Following a trip to Cancun, the couple made their home in Tulsa, Okla.

PRE-WEDDING PARTIES

Mrs. Jim Simmons hosted a bridal tea at her home on July 30. Co-hostess was Mrs. Wesley Collins.

The home of Mrs. Peggy White was the setting for a bridal shower on August 6. Mrs. Betty Herdman and Mrs. Jean Boyd served as co-hostesses.

A couples shower was given August 19 by Kasie Williams at her grandparents' home in Tulsa.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Byers, was held at the Olive Garden in Tulsa. The bride and groom presented gifts to their attendants after the dinner.
