Grant and Gina Golden visited George and Joy Cox on Saturday. Carolyn Purtle from Hope visited Neil and me on Thursday. On Sunday, October 8, Danny, Cherrie and Katy Wilson hosted a birthday party for their grandmother, Mozelle Gill, at their home. Potluck dinner was enjoyed by approximately 13 guests. Mozelle received many useful and nice gifts. Cake and ice cream were enjoyed by all. Jack and Ruby Bidwell from Farmington, N.M., spent last week in our community visiting friends and relatives. Shane and Amanda Meador from Glenwood had lunch with his parents, Sid and Sandy Meador, on Sunday. George and Joy Cox, Neil and I spent Friday in Texarkana. Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington spent Saturday in Sparkman, helping his parents, Bill and Leola Launius, cut wood and also enjoyed a fish fry and family gathering. The fourth, fifth and sixth grade Sunday school class from Shady Grove Baptist Church enjoyed an afternoon of playing putt putt and riding Go-Karts in Texarkana Sunday. Class members attending included Garrett Crellin, Ross Pilgreen, Caley Pennington, Christine Lewis and Logan Joyce.
