Sanders Wins At Prescott Raceway

Hope's Billy Sanders captured first place in the super-pro division at the Prescott Raceway Saturday, Oct. 14.

Sanders had a dial in time of 5.94 seconds, covered the course in 5.93 seconds with a top speed of 117 miles per hour. His reaction time was 0.548 seconds.

He was followed by Prescott's Greg Dougan, who had a 6.43 dial in and 8.82 estimated time. Dougan's reaction time was 0.481, while his race speed was 51 mph.

Kevin King, of Star City, was the semifinalist. His top speed was 132 mph, while his reaction time was 0.527. He had a dial in of 5.33 and an ET of 5.35.

In the no electronics class, Jeff Graves of Mabelvale took the top spot. Graves top end was 96 mph with his dial in at 7.02 and ET exactly the same. His reaction time was 0.615.

David Bright, of Stamps, finished in the runner up position. His dial in was 9.23, while his ET was 9.28. Bright's top end was 74 mph, while his reaction time was 0.589.

Pine Bluff's Steve Hamilton was the runner up. He had a top speed of 90 mph, and an reaction time of 0.495. His dial in time was 7.51, while his ET was 7.53.

In the street division, Sheridan's Zach Reynolds won again. His dial in of 11.15 and ET of 11.19 were good enough for a run of 91 mph. His reaction time was 0.574.

Brandon Elton of Benton was the runner up. He had a top speed of 76 mph, while his dial in was 13.07 and ET was 13.10. Elton's reaction time was 0.600.

Prescott's Carol Newton was the first runner up in the division. She reached 87 mph in the race, with a reaction time of 0.648. Newton's dial in was 11.60, while her ET was 11.81.

Clint Jackson, of Sheridan, was the second runner up. He had a dial in of 12.85 and ET of 12.92. His top end was 81 mph, while his reaction time was 0.535.

In the quick 16 class, J.O. Murray, of Benton, was the winner, reaching 121 mph to take the victory. His dial in was 5.59, while the ET was also 5.59. His reaction time was 0.528.

Jim Kelly, of Hamburg, was the runner up. His dial in time was 5.33, with an ET of 5.35. He had a reaction time of 0.478 and a top speed of 132 mph.

Gates at the Prescott Raceway now open at 2:30 p.m., with time trials beginning at 4 o'clock.

Races will be starting between 6:30-7 p.m.

Oct. 27, will be the last Friday night fun drags will be held.

The season will end on Nov. 19, unless a decision is made to extend it by the owners, Steve and Cindy Dedman.
