Wolf TraxPublished Wednesday, October 18, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott Booster Club still has Wolf Pack car flags, decade mugs, Curley Wolf yard signs, Curley Wolf window stickers, Curley Wolf seat cushions, a few of t-shirts, and the maroon hats for sale. You can purchase these when we have an away game by calling 887-2145. The Booster Club will still have a booth at all home games where you can also purchase these items. The Booster Club has the white "Can You Smell" t-shirts on sale for $8, and the gray 1999 District Champs t-shirts on sale for $5. The boosters are also going to be setting up the booster booth at all home games for 7th, 8th and 9th grade games. Once again the Booster Club would like to thank all the volunteers who help feed the football players each Friday at the Curley Wolf Cafi. The next PABC meeting will be Tuesday, November 2, in the PHS FHA building at 7:00 pm. Make plans to attend. This week's Mr. Offense is senior Wolf Ralf Marlow. Ralph is the son of Gail Scott and Sam Marlow. This week's Mr. Defense is sophomore Wolf Martel Woodley. He is the son of Carolyn and Terry Woodley. This week's most improved player of the week is junior Wolf Ryan Burdue. Ryan is the son of John and Gina Burdue. This week's lineman of the week is junior Wolf Matthew Yates. Matthew is the son of Mike and Cindy Yates. This week's special team's player of the week is senior Wolf Jesse Wright. Jesse is the son of Ron and Connie Wright. Cheerleader of the week is junior Tiffany Overton, aka Curl E. Wolf. Tiffany is the daughter of Robert and Beckie Loe and Larry and Kandy Overton. We would like everyone to extend a warm welcome to Wally Watson's brother, Curl E. Wolf. Curl E. has graciously agreed to take Wally's place as he had to take an early retirement due to health problems. Wally is currently learning to play golf and relaxing at his new retirement village in Jamaica and has promised to return for visits every so often. This week's band member of the week is sophomore Nicole Billingsley. Nicole plays the trumpet during marching season and the flute during concert season. She is the daughter of Ella and Ricky Billingsley. She is active in Science Club and FBLA. The Wolf Pride marching band attended and competed in two invitational competitions this last week. The first was held at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Tuesday, October 10. They won a first division trophy for the color guard. The second competition was held in Ashdown Saturday, October 14, and they won an excellent trophy. Drum major Kenny Wiley, the color guard and the drum line were judged superior. The band also received, for the fifth year in a row, most outstanding drum line in Class AA competition. If you see a band member or their director, Robert Fellows, be sure to congratulate them on their outstanding success. The band will be competing at Magnolia at SAU. Weekly calendar: Thursday, Oct. 19 cheer practice, 3:30 pm at PES activity center; band practice at Cummins Field, 3:30 to 5:30; seventh grade football at De Queen at 5:30 p.m.; and ninth grade Curley Cub football at De Queen at 7:00 pm. Friday, Oct. 20 pep rally, 2:30 p.m. at PHS gym; Curley Wolf Cafi, PES cafeteria at 3:00 p.m.; Curley Wolves football at Mena, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 Wolf Pride band competes at SAU Invitational Competition.
