The Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met October 12 at the Church of Christ.

Marguerite Tomlin, president, called the meeting to order.

There were 13 regular members present. The club was honored to have Dorothy Montgomery from Whelen Springs and Bonnie Lawler from Sutton as guests. Dorothy joined the Helping Hands Club. Other members expressed their delight in her joining.

Laverne Green, secretary, called the roll. Everyone was reminded to be sure to get their mammogram and check themselves for any signs of breast cancer.

Inspirational thought was read by Margie Knight.

Kay Nelson won the door prize.

Ruth Sullivan gave the treasurer's report.

The program for October regarded Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Ruth Sullivan gave a report on how to check yourselves, how to get a regular mammogram, and reminded members to eat healthy foods and to exercise to help prevent cancer.

A workshop is being planned for November 17 on making wreaths and decorating for Christmas.

Linda Carman, Becky Meador and Kay Nelson did a fantastic job decorating for the meeting. There were a few goblins out. It's a lot of fun to dress for Halloween.

Secret pals enjoyed exchanging gifts.

The meeting was adjourned.

Potluck food and drinks were enjoyed by all afterwards.
