There will be a hunter education course sponsored by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Oct. 19-21 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1007 E. Main. Joe Nordrum will be the instructor. The Clark County Fair Board will hold its meeting Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Extension Homemakers Club kitchen at the fairgrounds Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be offering sessions with representative Karen Bailey Oct. 23 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon and again from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal Building. If you have a special craft and are looking for a way to make a little extra holiday spending money, the Artesian Arts League in Prescott is looking for you. The league will hold its second annual fall-Christmas craft bazaar Sat., Oct. 21, at the First Baptist Church on Main Street from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Call Denise Haynes, 887-2622, or Penny Richards, 887-6241, for more information. Hempstead County Miss Southern Girl Pageant will be held Sat., Oct. 21, at Klipsch Auditorium in Hope. It is sponsored by St. Luke Church #2 at Shepherd and will benefit Harris Johnson Jr., a stroke victim. Anthony Williams, back-up singing for Pattie LaBelle, is scheduled to perform. The Artesian Arts League of Prescott will hold its second annual Christmas with the Arts, fall and Christmas craft bazaar Saturday, Oct. 21, in the First Baptist Church gymnasium from 8:30 a.m until 4:00 p.m. A variety of fall and Christmas crafts will be offered, as well as an on-site snack bar. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
