Alva SchooleyHERNDON FUNERAL HOMEPublished Wednesday, October 18, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Alva Schooley, 100, of Hope died Wednesday, October 11, 2000, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Mrs. Schooley was born December 5, 1899, in Hempstead County to Lafaette and Idelia Cole. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Memorial Baptist Church in Perrytown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Schooley, a daughter, Vivian Earlene Hulsey, a brother and three sisters. Survivors include two sons, Herman Hammer' Schooley and Houston Schooley of Hope; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, in Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Johnson and Rev. Jimmie Dule officiating.
