Peak memorial and star day program was held Sunday, October 8. Golden Star Chapter #359, order of the Easter Star, Arkansas Jurisdiction P.H.A., Harrison Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Howard L. Woods. Grand master was Sis. Benard Box, W.M. Tribute was Sis. Lula Kendrick. Solo was by Sis. Helen Haynie. Presentation was by Bro. Milton Lowe. Addressee was Bro. Soloman Beasley of Camden, and deceased members was Mrs. Elsie Sanders of Rosston, a retired school teacher of Oak Grove. It was a nice program.

Our pastor, Rev. L. Banks, and his wife's appreciation will be the fourth Sunday in October at Bethel AME Church. Rev. Herbert Adams will bring the message.

Our annual conference will be October 25-29 at St. Phillips AME Church in Magnolia. We won't have any excuse for not attending since it is so close.

J.D. Stringer's funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willisville.

Mr. DeWillie Gulley is still in the rehab in Camden. Girtie Blake is still in the rehab in Hope.

Freddie Dixon and his wife from Mineral Springs visited me Sunday afternoon.

The Civic League meeting was last week on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The follow people were present: Herbert Coleman, Henry L. Gulley, Milton Lowe, Benora Box, Lula Kendrick, Erby C. William, Rose William and Leo Holliman. We need more members to help carry on.
