A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse October 26, November 30 and December 28.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

PTP membership, sweatshirts and t-shirts are still on sale. The shirts have Curley Wolf Prescott School on them. Order forms have been sent home with students.

To any woman who would like to get together with another woman to pray may get in touch with the local area contact person of Moms in Touch, Beth Ward, at 870-887-6376.

For the past three years the local schools have been covered in prayer by a group of moms who meet on Tuesdays at 1:45 at First Baptist Church to pray for one hour.

The class of 1950 will have its 50th reunion Saturday, October 14, at First United Methodist Church beginning at 9:30.

Doughnuts and coffee will be served. All friends are invited to stop by.

Diabetic Education of Prescott will be having its next meeting on Wednesday, October 11, at Nevada County Cooperative Extension, 532 West First Street South in Prescott. The speaker will be Audie Teague, O.D. He will be discussing diabetic retinopathy.

This meeting is free to the public and is sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension.

Revival services will be held at Corinth Baptist Church in Bodcaw starting Sunday, October 15, through Friday, October 20. Sunday, October 15, will start at 6 p.m. with Bro. Petie Ward as the evangelist. The other services begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 16, Bro. Ed Phillips will be the evangelist; Tuesday, October 17, Bro. Tal Webb; Wednesday, October 18, Bro. Daniel Williams; Thursday, October 19, Bro. Eric Goble; and Friday, October 20, Bro. Jerry Evans.

Arkansas State Gospel Singing Convention will be October 14 and 15 at First Baptist Church in Hope, 315 South Main.

Warm-up session will be Friday, October 13, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Singing will start Saturday, October 15, at 10 a.m. with lunch at noon. The afternoon session is from 1:00 to 4:00, and evening session from 6:30 to 9:00. Sunday, October 15, will start at 10:30 a.m. with dismissal at 1 p.m.

A community fall festival will be held October 21 from 3 p.m. until dark at Morris Baptist Church. Everyone is invited. Make plans to attend and enjoy the fun. A hayride will be held afterwards.

Donations of any kind, like bags of candy, soft drinks, cakes, hot dogs, chips, etc, will be appreciated.

Rev. Jim Williams, who has resided in Taiwan and Honk Kong for the past 24 years, will be at First Church of the Nazarene Tuesday, October 17, at 7 p.m.

Everyone is invited to here the exciting news about the things God is doing among the Chinese people.

The Artesian Arts League will have its craft bazaar October 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church gymnasium.

You may get some early holiday shopping done at the bazaar. There will also be a food booth where you can have lunch.

First Assembly of God will be in revival October 15-18 with Rev. Brian Ryals of Hot Springs. Everyone is invited everyone to attend. Service times will be at 6 p.m. Sunday and then at 7:00 Monday through Wednesday nights.

Friends of the Library will hold its annual meeting on October 12 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Nevada County Library. A new board member as well as officers will be elected. All members and interested parties are urged to attend this meeting.

With the construction of a new county library to begin soon there are a lot of important things coming up in the future.

If anyone is interested in joining Friends of the Library you may do so at this meeting or contact any board member.
