Clark County Industrial Council (CCIC) will meet Thursday, May 20, at 5:05 p.m. in the Entergy Reddy room. This month's meeting is sponsored by Mercantile Bank. State Rep. Percy Malone will speak to the group concerning the proposed learning center. There will be a women's day program on May 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Speaker of the hour will be Sis. Annie B. Hubbard, pastor of Chocthran C.M.E. Church of Prescott. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Oak Grove Community Church will be having a singing May 22 at 7:00 p.m. Special singer will be Winnie Clark. The pastor and congregation invites everyone to come out and enjoy a good singing. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Muldrew C.M.E. Church of Gurdon and its pastor, Rev. Ronald Scott, invites everyone to come support the Sis. Carrie Street Church of God will be have 'revival breakthrough' services featuring Covenant Women. Pre-opening services will begin June 2 with speaker Sis. Carolyn Crow. Theme for the revival is 'We Will Not Give Up, Because We Have Victory In Christ.' On June 3, guest speaker will be missionary Mary W. Oliver of Victory Way Church of God in Christ of Bearden. On June 4 the guest speaker will be Sis. Georgia Alexander of Faith Unlimited Outreach of Camden. Services begin at 7:00 nightly. Whelen Springs Baptist Church will be having a homecoming, the first in many years, on May 23. Potluck lunch will be served at noon. Everyone welcome. Country dance lessons are being given on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at the Beirne Fire Department sponsored by the community of Beirne. Cost is $2 per person. Call 353-6759 for more information. The board of directors of the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, (today) at the Garland County Courthouse in Hot Springs. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
