Rosston Council To Seek BidsBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, October 11, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Rosston's City Council meeting was short and sweet Thursday, Oct. 5. The entire meeting lasted less than 10 minutes with Mayor Lewis Jackson informing the panel ads had been placed in the Nevada County Picayune and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette seeking bids for the new fire station. The bids will be opened Monday, Oct. 16, with a special meeting of the council being called for this occasion. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. The council also agreed to have the current fire station appraised then purchase it for using as storage for the Rosston Water Department. Jackson said there is $41,000 in the water budget, and having the Water Department buy the building would help the city get the new fire station built. If no bids are turned in for the fire station, he said, the city will then have to solicit them. The only other order of business was swearing in the new city secretary, Tonya Budd.
