Forest Festival Pageant October 21

The 17th annual Forest Festival pageant will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, in the old high school auditorium on South Third street.

The pageant is open to all girls who reside in Clark County and who are between the ages of 3 and 18.

There will be four age categories of competition: Tiny Miss, ages 3-5; Little Miss, ages 6-8; Princess, ages 9-12 and Queen, ages 13-18. Second runner-up, first runner-up and photogenic awards will also be given in each category. Interview award will be given in the Queen's category only.

Entry fee is $35. Entry forms may be picked up at Billy's Main Street Florist in Kuhn's Sentry Hardware.

Girls in Little Miss, Tiny Miss, and Princess categories may wear any dress of their choosing on stage.

Girls in the Queen's division are asked to wear a pageant dress for the on stage judging, and to wear a fashionable outfit of their own choosing for the interview session.

All entry forms, along with entry fees and a recent photograph, should be turned in by Oct. 14.

Photogenic pictures should be no smaller than 5x7 and should be of good quality. These pictures must also be turned in by the entry deadline in order to be included in the Miss Photogenic judging.

Deadline for entry is Saturday, Oct. 14.

The pageant is sponsored by the Gurdon CD&E club in conjunction with the annual Forest Festival.
