The Clark County Fair Board will hold its meeting Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Extension Homemakers Club kitchen at the fairgrounds An area wide youth rally will be hosted by First Assembly of God Mon., Oct. 16, at 7:00 p.m. A praise and worship band from Hot Springs will be ministering. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be offering sessions with representative Karen Bailey Oct. 13 and 23 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon and again from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Municipal Building. Hollywood Baptist Church will be in revival and have its homecoming Thurs., through Sun., October 12-15, beginning each night at 7:00, and on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with evangelist Don Clark speaking and presenting vocal ministries. Everyone is invited to attend. If you have a special craft and are looking for a way to make a little extra holiday spending money, the Artesian Arts League in Prescott is looking for you. Hempstead County Miss Southern Girl Pageant will be held Sat., Oct. 21, at Klipsch Auditorium in Hope. It is sponsored by St. Luke Church #2 at Shepherd and will benefit Harris Johnson Jr., a stroke victim. Anthony Williams, back-up singing for Pattie LaBelle, is scheduled to perform. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698.
