Poster Contests Being Sponsored By Farm Bureau

Published Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Nevada County Farm Bureau is sponsoring two different poster contests this year, one for poultry and another for rice.

The theme for the posters entered in the contest should be production, marketing, utilization, nutrition or other related topics in keeping with the objectives of the contest.

The objectives are: A) to enhance local efforts to promote poultry and rice through publicity received on posters entered in the county contest; and B) to provide an educational tool for grade school students, making them better informed about the poultry and rice industry.

The following are the rules that apply:

A) Poultry promotion is the overall theme for the first contest. Rice promotion is the overall theme for the second contest.

B) There are two categories in each competition: (1) 2000-2001 students in grades one, two or three of Arkansas' schools and (2) 2000-2001 students in grades four, five or six of Arkansas' schools.

Each entry must be prepared on poster board not exceeding 25"x35".

The entry can be three-dimensional, but not over three inches thick.

The first, second and third place winner in each category will receive a cash award from the Nevada County Farm Bureau. First place winners will be sent to the state contest.

On the back of each poster the student's name, address, county and grade must be listed.

Entries must be in the Nevada County Farm Bureau office by Monday, October 16, by 9 a.m.
