The Laneburg School reunion will be held October 7 at 3 p.m. in Fair Park Coliseum in Hope.

The McRae Middle School PTP is offering various items for sale this year to fund projects that will benefit the school.

These items include t-shirts, personalized duffle bags and backpacks and Curley Wolf license plates and cd cases.

PTP membership, sweatshirts and t-shirts are still on sale. The shirts have Curley Wolf Prescott School on them. Order forms have been sent home with students.

To any woman who would like to get together with another woman to pray may get in touch with the local area contact person of Moms in Touch, Beth Ward, at 870-887-6376.

For the past three years the local schools have been covered in prayer by a group of moms who meet on Tuesdays at 1:45 at First Baptist Church to pray for one hour.

The class of 1950 will have its 50th reunion Saturday, October 14, at First United Methodist Church beginning at 9:30.

Doughnuts and coffee will be served. All friends are invited to stop by.

The annual meeting of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Memorial Fund Association will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 8 at the Pleasant Hill Community Building (formerly Church of Christ building.)

All members of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association and all others who are interested in the cemetery are encouraged and invited to attend.

A benefit trail ride will be held in memory of Eric Henderson Saturday, October 7, at 10 a.m. eight miles north of Murfreesboro on Highway 27 at the home of Mike and Linda Henderson. Watch for signs.

You should take a sack lunch and lawn chairs. Wagons are welcome.

Barbecue will be furnished by the Hendersons. Everyone else take potluck for supper after trail ride.

All proceeds will go to MHS band to benefit underprivileged children.

Be sure to attend the first annual Bodcaw Festival, which will benefit the Bodcaw Volunteer Fire Department so it can buy a new pumper truck. The festival is this Saturday beginning at 3:00 p.m.

There will be entertainment and plenty of food. Adults can eat for $5 and children under 12 can eat for $2.50. The menu includes chili, hot dogs, hamburgers with chips, deserts and drinks.

Diabetic Education of Prescott will be having its next meeting on Wednesday, October 11, at Nevada County Cooperative Extension, 532 West First Street South in Prescott. The speaker will be Audie Teague, O.D. He will be discussing diabetic retinopathy.

This meeting is free to the public and is sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension.

Friends of the Library will hold its annual meeting on October 5 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Nevada County Library. A new board member as well as officers will be elected. All members and interested parties are urged to attend this meeting.

With the construction of a new county library to begin soon there are a lot of important things coming up in the future.

If anyone is interested in joining Friends of the Library, you may do so at this meeting or contact any board member.

White Oak Grove Baptist Church in DeAnn will hold its annual homecoming Sunday, October 8, at 10:30 a.m.

Bro. Chad Thompson will be the speaker. Lunch will be served afterwards with service and singing in the afternoon.

Fairhill Rural Fire Department had a drawing during the Nevada County Fair for three prizes during. The winners were Jake Tyree, first price, a Remington 870 Express 12-gauge shotgun; Greg Wilson, second prize, 60 gallon of gas; and Joyce Tyree, third place, 40 gallons of gas.

All the volunteers were greatly appreciated during the fair.
