Bodcaw Sets Festival For SaturdayPublished Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe first annual Bodcaw Festival, sponsored by the Bodcaw Volunteer Fire Department, will be held Saturday, October 7, starting at 3 p.m. in downtown Bodcaw. The festival is to raise funds for the Bodcaw Volunteer Fire Department to buy the new pumper truck which it desperately needs to keep its rating. This will mean lower insurance rates for its customers. All donations are tax deductible and will be appreciated. Chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, deserts and drinks will be served for $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids 12 and under. Activities will include a fire safety demonstration (burning house on wheels), games for the kids including a hayride after dark, live music, which includes Nikki Thornton and Scott Glass, Kristi Waters, Gospel Truth, Mark Hall and Union Hill, and a drawing for a give away of lots of great stuff which includes a CVA .50-caliber muzzleloader, a $50 gift certificate to Wal-Mart and $25 cash. Everyone is invited and encouraged to take a lawn chair. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
