James QuarlesPROCTOR FUNERAL HOME of CAMDENPublished Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in the Gurdon Times James Quarles, 88, of Camden died Saturday, September 30, 2000, in Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. Mr. Quarles was born July 25, 1912, in Gurdon. He was a retired service station mechanic and a member of Brown Temple Church of God in Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Quarles; a daughter, Margaret Carrolls; a brother, Isaac Cox; a sister, Margaret Cox, and his mother, Rachel Cox. Survivors include a daughter, Pearlie Quarles of Camden; a son, Hurrie P. Quarles of Camden, 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 3, at Brown Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial was in Eternal Rest Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden.
