Golden OldiesDORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, October 4, 2000 in the Gurdon Times A great big thanks to Big Star for donating the birthday cake for those with September birthdays. They are Hazel Walters, Jo DeWoody, Laura Grisby, Martha Haltom, Charlyne Wells, William Campbell, Dorothy McNeal, Harold Gulledge, Bennie Freeman, Addie Moore, Henry Lou Wells and Geneva Everitt. Some of our homebound had birthdays also: Elizabeth Plasex and Arletha Allen. Big Star is greatly appreciated for doing this for the center. There will be a 55 Alive class at the center on October 4 and 5. Activity director Sharon Hearn has had surgery. It will be a while before she will be back with us, but Martha Bearden, site manager, is doing a good job. There are many activities scheduled for October. We would love to see more attending. The Rotary meets at the center each Thursday of the month and the Chamber of Commerce the second Tuesday of the month. The Cover Girls have finished the quilt they were working on and are ready to put another one in. Come and join us. The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way Agency. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
