Golden Oldies

May has been a busy month. We have had many activities and the Cover Girls are trying to quilt a quilt that has to be finished soon.

Esther McKeever with AARP was at the center on May 11. Beatrice Stafford played the piano for the seniors walking exercise on May 12 and on May 13 we had open house.

As this is Older American Month, we displayed old and new pictures of the center. It brought back memories as some are now homebound and some have gone to meet their Lord.

Two quilts, quilted by the Cover Girls, were on display at open house. The tops were pieced by Geneva Everett, who donated them to the center. They belong to Eulah Wilson, who bought them. Cookies and punch were served at open house.

Martha Bearden is doing a fine job as activity director at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center. We appreciate her very much.

The monthly council meeting will be on May 18 and we will have group singing on May 19. The seniors will dine out on May 18.

We will have many more Golden Oldie moments to write about later.

Out love and prayers are with the Logan family in the loss of their loved one.

The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and is a United Way Agency.
