News That Matters To GurdonPublished Wednesday, September 27, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesA four-day revival will be held at the Davidson Campgrounds near Hollywood September 24-27 at 7:00 nightly. There will be different speakers each night. Everyone is invited. For more information contact Frank Henson at 353-4862. Gurdon Adult Education will be held Monday through Thursday starting at 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or Monday and Tuesday evenings 5:00-8:00 p.m. English as second language classes are held on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Gurdon Adult Education building, 107 North Third. Mt. Canaan Baptist Church will sponsor a free gospel music workshop beginning tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30. It continues through Friday, September 29. However, a gospel music concert will be held Saturday, September 30. Director of the workshop will be Darren Godfrey of Hooks, Texas. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather. Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For more information, phone 353-4698. Narcotics Anonymous meets in Gurdon every Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 206 East Main. For more information, call 353-6714.
