The Prescott Athletic Booster Club's (PABC) purpose is to support athletes and athletic programs for all sports offered at Prescott High School. Through fund-raisers the PABC is able to purchase equipment, awards and support special activities to show our support for the athletes.

Last year the club was able to purchase end-of-the-season individual awards and provide a special awards picnic for all the athletes, prepare a special athlete-cheerleader lunch for each team during the school year, buy ads in the Hootens Football Magazine to show support for the 2000-01 Curley Wolves, and buy ads for the all-star football and basketball games held this summer. The PABC also donated $2000 to the PHS track program for the replacement of worn equipment so the District AAA track meet could be held at PHS. PABC provided meals for the Curley Wolves football team and the Wolverettes basketball team during the state play-offs. Club members also baked and bagged spirit cookies for the football and basketball teams and the spring sports teams.

PABC organized a booster business program to gain community support for the PHS athletic program. Businesses donating to the PABC received a sign "We Support Prescott Athletics" to be placed in the window of their businesses to show their support. A large banner was made to be displayed at all athletic events listing the participating businesses, as well as a page in football program listing the participating businesses.

Fund-raising activities this past year included the sale of Curley Wolf T-shirts, promotional items and decade mugs. PABC was in charge of running all concession stands beginning in January with the basketball season and extending through baseball, softball and track seasons in April.

PABC hopes to once again have the funds to purchase first year athletic jackets and letters for the athletes and cheerleaders at the end of the school year. Plans are being made to support all athletes and cheerleaders by holding an athletic banquet each year.

We invite your support through membership. Membership fees are $5 per person. Members are invited to attend PABC meetings and become involved in the fund-raising and decision efforts. Help is always appreciated at the concession stands and PABC sale table.

You can become a member of PABC or obtain information about membership by attending our monthly meeting or by contacting one of the current officers: Ralph Harris is president Terry Cox is vice president; Sandy Morman is secretary; and Debbie Bullock is treasurer.

The next PABC meeting will be on October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Consumer Science building at PHS.

The PABC would like to thank the office personnel and teachers of the Prescott School District for helping with sale of this year's Curley Wolf t-shirts. We would also like to remind everyone that t-shirts, flags, mugs and other promotional items can still be bought by calling 887-3786 or 887-2145.

We would like to extend a big thank you to following people for helping out with the Curley Wolf Cafi: Jane Randolph, Ron Wright, Julia Ingram, Donna Carter, Lori Arnette, Deborah Charles, Janice Stephens, Debbie Allen, Ralph Harris, Claudette Harris, Connie Cox and Debbie Bullock. These folks volunteer their time each Friday to help feed our football team.
