Vesta Roberson Malcom

Vesta Roberson Malcom, 88, of Okolona died Saturday, September 2, 2000, at her home.

Mrs. Malcom was born February 13, 1912, in Okolona, the daughter of the late Jesse and Eula Tarpley Roberson. She was retired from Hollywood Vasserette in Arkadelphia. Mrs. Malcom was a member of Okolona Baptist Church, where she served as church pianist and church clerk for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Will Roberson.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Van Malcom; two sons, Jerry Malcom and his wife Wilma of Okolona and Joe Malcom and his wife Barbara of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one daughter, Judy McCauley and her husband Wayne of Okolona; three brothers, Paul Roberson, Flave Roberson and Wayne (Hap) Roberson all of Arkadelphia; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 5, in Okolona Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Jackson and Bro. N.C. Bryan officiating. Interment followed in Okolona Cemetery by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
