Career Directions Workshop OfferedPublished Wednesday, May 19, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneSouthwest Arkansas Development Council's single parent displaced homemakers program is offering a free four-day 'Career Directions' workshop to individuals who qualify. The workshop is designed for individuals who want to return to school or enter the job force and is especially helpful to single parents, displaced homemakers and single teen parents. The workshop will provide needed skills and attitudes which encourage life-changing decisions for the participants. It will concentrate on educational and employment opportunities. Covered topics include goal setting, interviewing, resume writing, applications and job search skills among others. The program is extremely successful in building the self-esteem and self-worth of participants. Eligible participants may apply for scholarship assistance after completing the workshop.
