Honey Attends Lawyers ConventionPublished Wednesday, May 19, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneCharles L. (Chuck) Honey of Prescott attended the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association 36th annual convention April 29 through May 1 in Eureka Springs. The program was approved by the Arkansas Supreme Court Office of Professional Programs for 12 hours continuing legal education (CLE) credit including one hour of required ethics. The three-day 'Springtime in the Ozarks' meeting featured 20 speakers from throughout the United States, including expert trial consultant Amy Singer, Ph.D., of Tampa, Fla. Among the convention festivities include the ATLA annual awards luncheon during which Circuit Judge David F. Guthrie was named Outstanding Trial Judge for 1999. Ted Boswell, Esquire, of Bryant was also honored as the 1999 Outstanding Trial Lawyer of the Year. Paul E. Harrison, Esquire, of Little Rock received the Roxanne Wilson Advocacy Award for service to the legal profession. The luncheon also featured a tribute to the late Walter R. Niblock, Esquire, of Fayetteville for his lifelong service to the legal profession. The theme for the meeting was 'Trial Practice in the 21st Century: Countdown to the New Millennium.' It was highlighted by the pre-millennium party and silent auction on Friday evening. Among the activities included a silent auction to benefit ATLA's bicycle safety helmet program and live entertainment from the Cate Brothers Band.
