Rosston NewsBY MARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, September 13, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune We were happy to have Ted Morman join the church last Sunday and was baptized in the morning services this past Sunday. His mother and her husband of Pine Bluff came for the service and also Grandma Dougan and Aunt Cathy. Miranda Jackson also united with the church by letter. The youth of our church were entertained yesterday afternoon at Bob Gresham's son's home in Hope with a swimming party and pizza afterward. Several ladies from our church and Rhonda Morgan of Camden and I enjoyed the Ladies' mini retreat at Bodcaw last Saturday. Maggie Chandler was the guest speaker and did a super job. We enjoyed a salad luncheon prepared by the ladies. I've never seen so many beautiful salads and they were very delicious. We had most of our family visiting us on Labor Day. Both of the little babies were here. We enjoyed a cook-out and homemade ice cream. Roscoe's cousin, Bobby Cross of Hot Springs Village, was our guest on Tuesday. Ila Carpenter had cousins from Mesquite, Texas, as a guests last weekend. This weekend granddaughter Allison Bennett of Dallas was our guest from Friday through Sunday. Wayne Jarvis and grandson Mike carried Tommie Lew halfway to Houston on Sunday. Someone met them there as she had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. A.B. and Maxine Luck went to their doctors in Little Rock on Thursday and Friday. Sue Dixon attended a funeral in Houston on Tuesday. I think it was a friend instead of a relative. Roscoe and I attended the Quadrangle Festival in Texarkana on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon we visited Uncle Arnold Williams in Camden. It was good to hear Bro. A.D. Livingston again. He is the evangelist at Providence in Perrytown this past week Friday through Sunday. Remember Herman Waters in prayer. The report is that he is not doing well.
