College News - Andy AlmandPublished Wednesday, September 13, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneAndy Almand of Prescott has been elected vice president external of the Henderson State University Student Government Association (SGA) for the new school year. Throughout the 2000-01 school year Henderson State University Student Government Association will be fostering greater student awareness of the role it plays on campus. According to President Lloyd Jackson, the SGA begins every year with a clean slate. This year the association plans to not only engage in senate debates concerning policies and issues, but also to better learn how students perceive the SGA. "Our main goal is to set a good view of what SGA is externally," said Jackson. HSU Student Government Association officers for 2000-01 are as follows: Lloyd Jackson, president; Joi Straight, vice president internal; Andy Almand, vice president external, and Brian Leonard, vice president administration.
