Smarts To Celebrate Golden AnniversaryPublished Wednesday, September 13, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesBill and Millie Hines Smart of Arkadelphia will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 23. The couple was married on September 23, 1950, in Reno, Nev. Bill retired from the timber industry in 1999. Millie is a homemaker and is retired in from being a part-time banker. The couple formerly lived in Arcata, Calif. Their children are Bill Smart and his wife Debbie of Lewiston, Mont., Steve Smart of Fort Mohave, Ariz.,and Mike Smart of Beaverton, Ore. They have nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A reception will be held at Twin Oaks, 902 Hickory in Arkadelphia on September 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
