Golden OldiesBY DORIS VANCEPublished Wednesday, September 13, 2000 in the Gurdon Times I was unable to get my article in the paper in time for it to be printed last week. The senior adults with August birthdays were Doug Quillen, Ann Smith, Nola Francis, Sue Crossley, Billie Jean Miller, Pauline Nelson, Bob Atkinson, Vernessa Russey, Alvin Sandidge, Calvin Sandidge, Billy Francis, Elizabeth Garner, Lawrence Bearden and Lois Christopher. Our homebound who had August birthdays were Maggie Nolan, Geneva Overton and Birdie Anderson. Several of the center's ladies went on a shopping trip to Hot Springs Mall last Friday. The fair will be this week, so some of the Arkadelphia senior adults will visit us. We really enjoy having them visit. Everyone enjoyed the square dancers last Friday, also. Lloyd Baumgardner will be singing for us on Thursday. A group from the center will be singing at Twin Rivers Rehab Center. A trip to the Glenwood Senior Adult Center is scheduled for Sept. 14. We still have many other activities scheduled for the month of September. We would love to see everyone come and join us.
