Vasser Outstanding Graduate

Vicki Vasser, a graduating accounting major from Prescott, was selected the Outstanding Graduating Senior from the Sam M. Walton College of Business Administration from 606 undergraduates.

During the four years Vasser attended the University of Arkansas, she was an active member of several academic organizations. She served as Beta Gamma Sigma vice president, the national honorary business fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi vice-president of programs, the national honorary accounting fraternity, the Beta Alpha Psi tutoring committee chair, and treasurer of Alpha Kappa Psi, an honorary business organization.

She was a member of Gamma Beta Phi, Cardinal Key, Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She served as risk management chair and scholarship chair of Kappa Kappa Gamma during her four years of undergraduate study.

Vasser was a University of Arkansas student ambassador, an associated Student Government senator for two years, and a member of the all-student judicial board for two years.

Vasser has been involved with several activities and organizations, such as the Fayetteville Youth Center, Autumnfest, the AIDS Quilt, the Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and the VITA program.

Her scholarship awards include the Arkansas Alumni Scholar, the University Scholarship and the prestigious Arthur Carter Scholarship, awarded to 30 individuals nationally by the American Accounting Association.

In addition to the many community and academic activities which Vasser has participated, she has also received several academic honors, which include selection for the chancellor's and dean's list for eight semesters, Outstanding Junior in Accounting Award, Outstanding Senior in Accounting Award, nomination for the Sam M. Walton College of Business Administration Student Leadership Award, and nomination for the Arkansas Alumni Association Senior Honor Citation.

Upon graduation, Vasser plans to continue her education at the Walton College of Business Administration in the M.B.A. program with a graduate assistantship. She plans to sit for the CPA exam in November 2000 and then pursue a law degree.

She is the daughter of Glenn and Judy Vasser of Prescott.
