Jessie L. Radford Sr. pastor's anniversary Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3:00 p.m. Special guest will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. The vans will leave at 1:00 p.m. Back-to-school revival will be held Sept. 19, 20 and 21 at 7:00 nightly by Smith and Trotter (both 14 years old) and Pastor Quintin Radford preaching at St. Clair Baptist Church of Burtsell. Rev. L.B. Beard, pastor. Everyone and all churches are welcome. The Southwest District singing convention will convene with Lonoke Baptist Church in Hope Friday, Sept. 15, at 7:00 p.m. for the pre-musical by all four divisions in charge, and Saturday, Sept. 16, at 10:00 p.m. with Macedonia Baptist Church of Boughton. Rev. Lonnie Hughes, pastor and speaker. Sept. Workshops president address, 7:00 p.m., all local choirs in charge. Dr. Kenneth Harris, president, Rev. Alvin Hunter, host pastor, and Dr. C.K. Yarber, moderator. We welcome you all. September 24 at 11:00 a.m. New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon will be hosting special guests at St. Paul Baptist Church in Texarkana, Rev. Quintin Radford, speaker, Rev. T.J. Roberson, pastor. Vans will leave at 9:00 a.m. St. Paul A.M.E. Inspirational Choir anniversary will be Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 24, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Arkadelphia. Everyone and all churches welcome. Mrs. Annie Tate, president, Rev. Charlie Thomas, pastor. Sunday, Oct. 1, the annual youth day will be held at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Warren at 4:30 p.m. Special guests will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor and speaker. Everyone is welcome. Revival services will be held at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon October 2-6 at 7:00 nightly. Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m. an annual mission program will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church of Emmet. Special guests will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. The family of the late Earnestine Piggs of Vaden, Gurdon, Maryland and other surrounding areas wish to thank everyone for their efforts and gifts, especially Mrs. Rosie Lee McCray for her kindness during the death of their wife, mother, sister and brothers. Lonnie Ruth Gould is the sister of Delton Simpson of Gurdon, Ruth Simpson of Gurdon and Ruby Govan of Malvern. They are happy to have her back. Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Gatlin of Chicago, Ill. visited relatives, his mother, Bertharene Williams and family; Uncle Sam Gatlin; Aunt Laura Grigsley; other relatives and friends of the Burtsell community, his father, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gatlin; his sister, Mary Ann Anderson, Uncle Joe and Hazle Welch, other relatives and friends of the Gurdon and surrounding areas. Theron Gatlin of California visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Gatlin and his sister Elnora A. Gatlin and other relatives and friends in Gurdon, Little Rock and Memphis; and his sister and brother. Wish Mrs. Laura Grigsley and Mrs. Hazle Welch both happy birthdays, Friday and Saturday.
