Carlos Antonio 'Chubby' Haynie

Carlos Antonio Chubby' Haynie, 21, died Monday, September 4, 2000, in an automobile accident near Prescott.

Mr. Haynie was born October 28, 1978, to Lillie Cunningham and Carson Haynie Jr. in Prescott. He joined Church of the Living God while very young in Tyler, Texas, and later joined Mt. Canaan in Gurdon and then New Beginning in Prescott, but was presently attending Eastern Star Baptist Church in Gurdon.

Carlos was a 1997 graduate of Prescott High School, where he received numerous awards in music and sports, including the basketball Curley Wolves Award for 1996-97; Prescott athletics basketball for three years; track for 1996-97, instrumental music department Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding service; and band crew for 1994-97.

He was employed with Precision Industries in Malvern.

Carlos was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Andrew Cunningham, his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Buckner, and his paternal grandfather, Carson Haynie.

Survivors include two children, Lillian and Latrice Haynie of Gurdon; his mother, Lillie Cunningham of Prescott; his father and step-mother, Carson Haynie Jr., and Lana of Prescott; his fiancee, Carolyn Reed of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Marcus Warren and his wife Vanessa of Arkadelphia and Shannon Haynie of Prescott; three sisters, Dwanna Curtis and her husband Tyrone of Chidester, Tequila Warren of Prescott and Victoria Allen of Gurdon; his maternal grandfather, Gilbert Davis of Gurdon; his paternal grandmother, Geneva Haynie of Chidester; a special aunt, Brenda Daniels of Tyler, Texas, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 7, at Munn's Chapel Baptist Church in Prescott with Rev. Arthur Hill and Rev. Herbert Adams officiating.
