Kirkpatrick Hired To Lead Lady Go-DevilsBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, September 6, 2000 in the Gurdon Times Gurdon's Lady Go-Devil basketball team will have a new coach for the 2000-2001 season. The Gurdon School Board, in a special session Thursday, Aug. 31, hired Brandie Kirkpatrick to replace Sandra Hatley, who took a job in Warren. Five candidates were interviewed at the meeting, with the panel picking Kirkpatrick for the position. Along with the school board, Athletic Director John Pace, Gurdon High School Principal Leonard Gill and Charles Failla GHS assistant principal were present for the interview. Kirkpatrick earned her BSE from Ouachita Baptist University in 1995, where she majored in physical education. She is currently the office manager at the Metalworking Connection, a youth apprenticeship program, and is co-owner of BODZ gym. She did some of her student work at Peake Elementary in Arkadelphia, worked at Gurdon junior and senior high schools, as well as at Bismarck junior and senior high schools.
