Booster Club News

The Booster Club currently has football t-shirts and caps for sale. All the schools were given forms for the t-shirts to be sent home with children so parents could order using the form. If you did not receive a form you can call Sandy Morman at 887-5101 or Connie Cox at 887-2145 and order a shirt or a cap. There is a choice of two t-shirts with You know you're a Curley wolf if....' for $10 and a spirit shirt with Can You Smell What the Curley Wolves are Cooking?' for $12. There are also two styles of hats: a maroon hat with Wolves and Wolverettes and a maroon and white lightning hat, each priced at $10.

Gridiron Gossip

The Booster Club would like to extend a warm welcome to new head football coach Kirk Armitage. Before coming to Prescott he was a defensive coordinator and the linebacker and offensive coach at Ashdown High School, as well as the dean of students. He is married to Cheri Armitage and has a 2=-year-old daughter, Madyson.

The Curley Wolves graduated a large class of experienced seniors in May, resulting in a young and fairly inexperienced team. The coaching staff was pleased with the tie against Lakeside Friday night. The Curley Wolves played a good game and will continue to improve throughout the school year.

Casey Ward dislocated his shoulder during practice and had shoulder surgery at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia Monday, August 28. He spent the night in the hospital and will not be able to play for approximately six to eight weeks.

Spirit Talk

The PHS cheerleaders' annual mini cheer camp was a success this year with 70 girls attending. The mini cheerleaders will have practice September 7 with the PHS cheerleaders. The cheerleaders will escort the mini cheerleaders from the car-rider/walker line at PES to the high school. Parents will need to pick up their children by 4:15. The mini cheerleaders will cheer at the Hope ballgame and will need to meet at 6:45 in front of the home bleachers. The mini cheerleaders will receive free admittance to the game if they wear their mini camp uniform.

The PHS cheerleaders would like to thank Shay Farris for her help in making the re-usuable run-through sign this summer and saving them about $700.

The PHS cheerleaders will be selling Paw Power (with paw) spirit marks and football ribbons at the Prescott Elementary School every Friday as well as at the games. The spirit marks will be 75c each or 10 for $7.50. The football ribbons will include a football topper and will be 75c.

The PHS cheerleaders and Wally Watson attended NCA Cheer Camp in Little rock at UALR. We want to congratulate Wally Watson (AKA Tiffany Overton) for getting most improved mascot.

Musical Notes

We would like to welcome our new band director, Robert Fellows. He says the band will be presenting a 70s type show at half time. Look in next week's issue of the Picayune for more information on the band.
