Business Directory Being Compiled By Chamber Office

A business directory is being complied by the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said the idea behind the directory is to have a comprehensive list of all businesses and industries in the city and county for those needing information.

The Chamber, she said, regularly gets calls about different types of businesses in Prescott and Nevada County, but the Chamber doesn't have a complete list.

Because of this, she is asking all business people in the county to call the Chamber with information about their operation.

The areas the Chamber is especially lacking in are: antique shops, construction companies and contractors, and convenience stores in the county. Churches are also asked to provide information to the Chamber.

There is no charge for a business to be listed in the directory. It's being done as a service to those in the community.

Godwin said the information needed is: business name, type of business, business address, business phone number and contact person.

There will be three Chamber coffees in September.

The first coffee will be Thursday, Sept. 7, from 9-11 a.m. at the community room at St. Michael's Christus Clinic. This is to kick off the Health-A-Rama, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church gym.

The next coffee will be Monday, Sept. 18 at the Potlatch Building in the Nevada County Fairgrounds. This coffee, sponsored by the Nevada County Fair Queens, will be at 10 a.m. to kick off the Nevada County Fair.

The final coffee will be Sept. 28, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Dalrymple Accounting. This coffee is being held to introduce Brad Crain, to the community. Crain is the newest member of the Dalrymple team.
