Lawyer Johnson

Lawyer Johnson, 80, of Prescott died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Beverly Health Center in Prescott.

Mr. Johnson was born March 10, 1919, in Blevins to Joe and Hattie Smith Johnson. He worked for Lone Star for 26 years and 10 years at Blevins Schools in maintenance. He was a member of Green Hill AME Church and was a mason at Elizabeth Lodge 193 in Blevins.

Survivors include his wife of 62+ years, Ola Mae Johnson of Prescott; three sons, Dr. James R. Johnson, and wife, Dana, of Huntsville, Ala., Dr. D. Edwin Johnson, and wife, Bonnie K. Dewell, of San Angelo, Texas, and Vernon Dixon of Old Washington; one daughter, Delma Johnson of Little Rock; two brothers, Leo Johnson and Edgar Johnson both of Prescott; two sisters, Laura Bealey and Verta Mae Johnson both of California; two aunts, Minnie Richardson of Prescott and Mrs. M.C. Johnson of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 15, at Green Hill AME Church in Prescott with Pastor Shirley Renix officiating. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
