Herbert R. 'Buck' Reed

Herbert R. Buck' Reed, 83, of Emmet died Monday, August 14, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Reed was born July 4, 1917, in Emmet to Otis and Estell Boyd Reed. He was a retired foreman of Southwest Wood Products of Hope. He was a Methodist and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his campaign in central Europe.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Honeycutt Reed of Emmet; one son, Larry Reed of Emmet; one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Steven Halliwill of Emmet; one sister, Maudie Otwell of Emmet; five grandchildren, Traci Ann Brewster of Emmet, Michael Reed of Redding, Calif., and Robin Reed, Randy Reed and Shane Antley all of Emmet; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 17, at First United Methodist Church in Emmet with Rev. Buddy McKamie officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
