Rosston NewsBY MARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, August 23, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune We were happy to have Pam Elliott and son, Troy, unite with our church Sunday night by letter. The youth had Back to School' social after church. There will be a benefit hamburger supper for Danielle Carwile at the Nevada School cafetorium Friday, August 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The entertainment is featuring Union Hill Trio (formerly the Ambassadors) and many other local voices. Plates will be $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under. There will also be carry-out orders. Everyone is invited. There will be a Ladies' Retreat at Bodcaw Church Saturday, September 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maggie Chandler will be the guest speaker. I enjoy her article in the Baptist Trumpet each week. Guest in church Sunday with Elsie Williams were Horace and Mary Lou Smith of Camden and a cousin of Bro. Petie. Revival will begin at Rosston Church next Sunday with Bro. Sam Husser as the evangelist. Sunday is homecoming and we will have lunch after church but there will be no singing in the afternoon. We need to call it something other than homecoming as most people look forward to hearing a former pastor and singing. If you can't come to the revival please pray for us.
